Biography: Dr. Loyola V. Gressot is a board-certified neurosurgeon licensed in the state of Texas. She was born in Geneva, Switzerland, and raised in Houston, Texas. She is bilingual in English and French.She attended Rice University in Houston where she studied biochemistry and molecular biology, graduated Summa Cum Laude, and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. During this time, she became a licensed paramedic in the state of Texas and worked part-time on an ambulance providing emergency medical services for 5 years.Dr. Gressot then attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, was inducted into the Gold Humanism honor society, and graduated with the highest honors as the valedictorian.Dr. Gressot completed her neurosurgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine. She conducted brain tumor lab research and was granted the prestigious Preuss Award from the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He received advanced training at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, completing a fellowship in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery in the Department of Neurological Surgery. As both a resident and fellow, Dr. Sellin has gained extensive experience in cranial microsurgery, cerebrovascular surgery, neurosurgical oncology, and complex spine surgery. Dr. Sellin treats a variety of neurosurgical conditions including spinal stenosis, disk herniations, complex spinal deformities, spinal fractures, brain tumors, primary and metastatic spine tumors, cerebral aneurysms and vascular malformations, trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm, and Chiari malformations.
