Biography: This physician is accepting telehealth visits. Clifford L. Deal, III, MD, received his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University and his medical degree from VCU's Medical College of Virginia (MCV). He completed his general surgery residency at MCV. He is board certified in general surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Deal previously served in the 82nd Airborne Division and currently serves as Major in the United States Army Reserve. Dr. Deal has received the Outstanding Resident Physician Leader Award from the Richmond Academy of Medicine and the Young Star Award from the Medical Society of Virginia. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of both the Richmond Academy of Medicine and the Medical Society of Virginia. He holds a faculty appointment at MCV and serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery. Dr. Deal is Chief of Surgery at Henrico Doctors' Hospital. Dr. Deal was chosen by his peers as one of Richmond's "Top Doc" in 2008 for General Surgery in Richmond Magazine. My particular areas of focus include Advanced Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery and Enhanced Recovery after Surgery. Outside of work my family and I enjoy the beach and relaxing at home. Having three girls shopping, movies, and extracurricular activities take up a lot of our down time.
