Dr. Vaughan served as an orthopedic surgeon for the U.S. Navy in Pensacola, Florida. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In his spare time, Dr. Vaughan volunteers as the orthopedic team surgeon for the University of Puget Sound. Dr. Vaughan enjoys spending time with his family and engaging in outdoor activities including hiking, skiing, golf and youth sports.

He also has extensive experience managing spine trauma and spine oncology. He has trained under world experts in minimally invasive, evidence-based spine surgery techniques that decrease pain, incision length and blood loss. He stresses shared decision-making, open communication and surgical safety. Dr. Du is a member of multiple spine and orthopedic societies. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers on topics such as disk replacement, robotics and safety in spine surgery. He has presented at nearly 100 national and international conferences, and has received multiple awards for his clinical and research accomplishments.
