Biography: David Cowan, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who cares for patients of all ages. His special medical interests include preventive medicine and preventive cardiology; management of lipid disorders; nutrition and fitness; and child nutrition.Dr. Cowan enjoys following patients over time and treating multiple generations of a family. He listens carefully to the story each patient tells about their symptoms and concerns, then identifies an approach to treatment that is holistic, harnessing the body's own capacity to heal.Dr. Cowan is a member of the American and Washington Academies of Family Practice. He is a founding member of Healthier Kids Bainbridge, a group focuses on improving food and health education in the schools.Dr. Cowan and his family enjoy theater, music, winter sports and cooking.
