Biography: Karan Dua, MD is an Orthopedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of structures affecting the form and function of the entire arm. Karan is a Brooklyn native, and a proud member of the New York community. After earning his Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from Stony Brook University School of Medicine, he completed an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He has been awarded multiple research grants studying wrist and elbow reconstruction techniques, nerve gliding in the upper extremity, and continues to pursue these efforts at Columbia University. He has published over 30 peer reviewed journal articles, authored several book chapters in leading Orthopedic surgery textbooks, and presented his research at national and international conferences. Dr. Dua is a participating member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), and the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES). Biography: Sarah E. Vollbracht, MD, FAHS, is a neurologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Westchester and an associate professor of neurology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She specializes in treating headaches, migraines, and facial pain, and is board certified in neurology and headache medicine. Dr. Vollbracht provides treatment for headaches and associated neurological conditions. She is a diplomate of both the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties, and a fellow of the American Headache Society. Dr. Vollbracht is also a member of several organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology, the International Headache Society, and the AHS Inpatient Headache and Emergency Care. She is a journal reviewer for the peer-reviewed publications, Headache and Cephalalgia. After graduating from Yale University, Dr. Vollbracht earned her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. Biography: David P. Trofa, MD, is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon specializing in the operative and non-operative treatment of athletes of all ages and skill levels, including pediatric and adult patients. He is an expert in arthroscopic and open surgery of the knee, shoulder, and elbow. Dr. Trofa has a particlar intrest in advanced knee disorders and complex knee pathologies, focusing on cartilage restoration, non-surgical management of early arthritis, meniscus injuries, ligament reconstruction, knee dislocations, and patellofemoral disorders.
