Biography: John E. Zvijac, M.D., is a fellowship-trained physician with dual Board-certification in orthopedic surgery and orthopedic sports medicine with Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute and a member of Baptist Health Medical Group, an organization of more than 18 physicians in multiple specialties closely aligned with Baptist Health South Florida. He specializes in diagnosing and treating spine and back injuries, diseases and disorders. He performs non-operative and interventional spine procedures, including epidural steroid injections; intra-articular facet injections; medical branch blocks and radiofrequency ablation; discograms; selective nerve root blocks; and peripheral joint/bursa injections in the shoulder, knee, elbow, hand/wrist and ankle and foot. He specializes in both sports medicine and arthroscopy of the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle. He is the head team physician for Florida International University and assistant team physician for the Florida Panthers hockey team. Over 2 years ago, he helped establish the relationship between Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Doctors Hospital to improve the healthcare of student athletes. Dr. Hechtman also serves as a clinical instructor for physician assistants and athletic trainers at Barry University, Miami Dade College and Nova Southeastern University. He was a physician for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Dr. Lerebours specializes in orthopedic trauma surgery and fracture surgery. With a background in sports medicine, he has expertise in treating both fractured bones and surrounding soft tissues. He is fluent in English and Haitian Creole. Dr. Lerebours joined Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute from Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was an attending physician. During his time in Los Angeles, Dr. Lerebours provided sports medicine team coverage for the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Kings. A first-generation Haitian American, Dr. Lerebours participates in medical mission trips to Haiti.
