Crazy Diagnosis
Let me begin by saying, I've heard wonderful things about Dr. Ouellete as a surgeon, which is why I decided to make an appointment with her again. (I had seen years prior and was NOT impressed with her then, but hey, if I'm going to possibly end up with surgery, I want 'the best', right?) When I arrived for my appt this time, again (just as in years prior) there was an extremely long wait and was not seen until almost 90 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. When Dr. Ouellette finally came in, I felt as if what I had to say didn't matter and only what SHE had to say mattered. In the end, she wanted me to get a custom-made $300 wrist brace, as well as put me on antibiotics for what she felt MIGHT be some 'marine bacteria' that she says 'we've being seeing a lot of lately' for inflammation in my fingers....mind you, I have not even been in any water in months!! It's trigger finger lady, NOT some bacteria!!! I can only imagine how many people were put on unneeded antibiotics!

Unacceptable experience
It took me over 3 months to get an appointment with Dr. Oullette. I arrived on time and checked in. I was not told about the doctor running late. After waiting an hour I inquired at the check in desk and was told that the doctor had 3 patients in front of me and would be at least an hour or more before I could see her. This sounds like a scheduling problem to me. I'm sure Dr. Oullette is a great doctor but I am going to go elsewhere. This is unacceptable

Disappointed
I have a small finger cyst, I have an insurance, I want it to be surgically removed. I found my network hand surgeon. I made an appointment and have visit a doctor. Before I said what is my problem I ask them if my insurance will cover it. I have a specialty doctor visit co-pay $75. So doctor said I have to not worry about, it will be cover entirely. She took a look at my finger the most 5 minutes, and then I had a x-ray done. For some reason they did not charge my specialty co-pay at that day. Later, during the week somebody called to schedule appointment and representative said they will charge me $1000 extra out of my pocket, which I have to decline. After I received $500 bill for doctor diagnosis for 5 minutes. YES $100 per MINUTE! Part of my insurance covered part did not. I have to call to Baptist Health South Florida coordinator to discuss my billing problem, I did not have a success to do so. It is very disappointing, the name Baptist Health should reflect a honesty, not money

Never calls back to schedule surgery still 2 month
Wonderful attentive said I needed easy finger surgery I called and called no luck after 2 painful months I am still waiting surgery. She doesn’t care or rerun calls. Why? Return no doesn’t she or her incompetent staff have any empathy? Doesn’t reflect Baptist Orthopedic dept. shame on all involved

Dr. Ouellette has successfully performed 3 different types of surgeries on my hands, including carpal tunnel, (both hands during same surgery), and trigger finger. She’s a phenomenal surgeon with a great personality. I highly recommend her And that’s why after 13 years of not requiring her medical assistant, I’m now returning for a new issue. I have great confidence in her ability to help me once again.

This review does not refer to Dr Ouellette, but to her office staff. On November 26, 2019, I went to go see the doctor due to a carpal tunnel diagnosis. At the time of paying for my visit, the office staff noticed that my personal information on my file was incorrect (name misspelled) and they fixed it before I left. Today when I went to my second visit due to a broken wrist, I was given a medical history sheet to fill out. I told them I had been to the doctor before, but the office staff told me that I had never visited the doctor before and that I must be lying because they had no record of me ever having visited. After being called a liar again by the office staff, and after about half an hour, they finally found my file under the same incorrect name it was under after my first visit. It seems the office staff have difficulty updating medical files while also having a knack for putting patients down by calling them liars. I will not be returning to the doctor after this experience.

I had an appointment today and had a medical situation to deal with. I called the office and asked if I could be a little late. They said NO. BUT IT WAS OK TO WAIT 3-4 hours in her waiting room on prior visits, AND OF COURSE SHE IS NOT WORKING THE NEXT TWO WEEKS so I would have to wait until next year after having this appointment since September. She may be a fine surgeon but there are certainly other doctors as good.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Ouellette?
Anne Oullette performed three surgeries on my arm: shoulder, elbow and wrist, as part of a medical study she was conducting. I was stunned when I learned she intended to operate on my elbow and wrist, as I had no problem with them. She convinced me I would be better off with all three surgeries simultaneously. I received no benefits from the wrist and elbow surgeries, which were unnecessary. The scar tissue she removed in my shoulder grew back within a few months.
