She assumed additional healthcare roles during her first two years of medical school at the University of Virginia, by working as a medical-surgical and hospice nurse.She completed her general surgery residency at the University of Massachusetts. Following this, she successfully completed a minimally invasive colorectal surgery fellowship in Orlando.
