Care Philosophy: I can honestly say Ophthalmology is an everlasting love at first sight (pun intended). While still in medical school, I had already applied for general surgical residencies. But in the last rotation of my third year at the Medical College of Virginia, I had the opportunity to work in Ophthalmology. My very first exposure was cataract surgery. That was followed by office work and LASER surgery. It was clear to me this was my calling, based primarily on my interaction with patients. From that point on I did everything I could towards becoming a practicing Ophthalmologist.

Care Philosophy: All of you know me as a retina specialist who delivers compassionate, state of the art retina specific specialty care in a comfortable yet professional environment. In continuing that vein, my new office near downtown Winslow is equipped with the latest diagnostic imaging equipment such as the combined Heidelberg Spectralis Tracking multicolor HRA- OCT and HRA multicolor scanning laser fundus camera.

Biography: Hee-Jung Park, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care to children and adults. Her areas of interest include strabismus (misalignment of eyes), amblyopia (lazy eye) and cataracts. _x000D_ Away from work, Dr. Park enjoys medical volunteer work in places like Mother Theresa's Missionaries of Charity in Ethiopia and Tibetan monasteries in Himalayan villages in India.
