He received his MD (with academic distinction) from Brown University in 2001, and completed his surgical residency at New York Presbyterian/Cornell and fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at North Shore/Long Island Jewish Hospitals. He is on the Board of Directors of the APDS, having served as chair of the Independent Academic Medical Center Committee and member of the Program Committee. He is President-elect of the Philadelphia chapter of the American College of Surgeons and has been nominated as a national Governor. He is also a member of the AAMC's ERAS Advisory Council.
