Care Philosophy: I believe that patients have to take an active role in their care. Because the medical terminology can be quite confusing, difficult, and scary, I try to make sure that patients have a full understanding of their condition and the various options that might be available to them. As a surgeon, many of those options may include surgical procedures, but in many cases patients can be helped without surgery, which is also quite satisfying for me.

Utilizing a whole-person approach to musculoskeletal care, he considers each patient's desired activity level and lifestyle when developing a treatment plan. Dr. Gray is a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society. He brings his extensive experience in sports medicine to the sidelines, providing medical coverage for the Bellarmine Preparatory football program. In his off-hours, Dr. Gray enjoys biking and skiing.

Care Philosophy: His favorite aspect of patient care is surgery, but he thinks it is of utmost importance that patients have an adequate understanding of their issues, expected outcome and prognosis.

Care Philosophy: Samuel Holmes, MD, is double board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, and pain management. His goal is to provide comprehensive, integrative, multidisciplinary care to include medication management, interventional procedures, education and guidance to better understand and transcend the complexities of chronic pain. He fully believes the patient-provider relationship is central to this endeavor. Dr. Holmes is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Medical Association, and Society of Medical Consultants to the Armed Forces. Dr. Holmes is the former Chief of the Interdisciplinary Pain Management Center at Madigan Army Medical Center on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, where he and Dr. Adam Olsson developed and implemented multiple systems and programs of health for service members, retirees, veterans and their family members.
