Biography: Emily Tonorezos, MD MPH is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Weill Cornell Medicine/New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Tonorezos received her bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire and her M.D. from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2001. Following Residency in Internal Medicine, she spent one year as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine, both at Columbia University Medical Center. She subsequently completed a General Internal Medicine fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Masters in Public Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Tonorezos joined Weill Cornell from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she served as Director of the Adult Long-Term Follow-Up Program for adult survivors of childhood and young adult cancers.

Biography: Ellen J. Scherl, M.D. is the Jill Roberts Professor of Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Weill Cornell Medicine. She is currently an Attending Physician at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.Dr Scherl is the Jill Roberts Professor of Clinical Medicine. She is committed to caring for the community of individuals and families living with Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis while curing IBD through collaborations focusing on individualized medicine by illuminating endoscopic, immunologic, microbial, genetic and molecular signatures and pathways. Since joining the WCMC/NYPH she has established a longitudinal patient database which documents ongoing validated disease activity indices in the individual daily EMR.She has an active practice and serves as a principal investigator on national and international randomized clinical trials as well as investigator initiated trials evaluating innovative strategies and investigational therapies for Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease. She lectures nationally and internationally on optimizing IBD therapies and redefining the impact of innovative therapies on existing strategies.Dr. Scherl established the IBD Center at NY Presbyterian Hospital / Weill Cornell Medicine in 2002 and became the Founding Director of the Jill Roberts Center for IBD (JRC IBD) in 2006.She is currently the Research Director of JRC. She established the JRC along with the late Jill Roberts as a joint labor of love. She has forged inspired collaborations with Weill Medical College of Cornell University, Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and New York-Presbyterian Hospital's pediatricians, colorectal surgeons, nutritionisits, researchers and multidisciplinary consultants.The Jill Roberts Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease is exploring comprehensive approaches toward integrating nutrition, healthcare and IBD research, looking forward to achieving preventive and personalized medicine. The JRC IBD Center is committed to the interdisciplinary approach to Inflammatory Bowel Disease focusing on nutrition, osteoporosis, nephrology, dysplasia, and colon cancer screening using novel techniques such as narrow band imaging.In collaboration with the Jill Roberts Institute she has established an IBD live cell bank. She has collaborated with researchers at Cornell University to identify a novel E. Coli bacteria associated with Crohn's Disease and continues to collaborate with Weill Medical College of Cornell University/New York-Presbyterian Hospital researchers investigating the immunogenetics and immunobiology of IBD.Castle Connolly has consistently honored Dr Scherl as one of America's Top Doctors® in 2020 and celebrates New York Metro Top Doctors 15th Anniversary 2020She is the 2020 honoree for the CCF Humanitarian of the Year Award. She has received the 2012 CCF Woman of the year award 2008 AGA award for Outstanding Women In Science and in 2007 was awarded the NYSGE Florence Lefcourt Distinguished Service Award.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Jacob received her B.S. in biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and her medical doctorate from Albany Medical College. She completed her internal medicine training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She subsequently finished her gastroenterology training at Columbia Presbyterian, College of Physicians and Surgeons. She did further sub-specialty training with an advanced fellowship specifically in inflammatory bowel diseases under the tutelage of Dr. Ellen Scherl, Director of the Jill Roberts Center for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases.

Biography: Dr. Leung is a board-certified Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist and an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Leung specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, adults and their families using psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacological techniques. She has a particular expertise in the evaluation and treatment of children and families who are affected by chronic medical and psychiatric conditions. Her other areas of interest and expertise include: mood and anxiety disorders, transitions between life stages, and childhood and adult ADHD. She believes in a collaborative approach with patients and their families to achieve their treatment goals. Dr. Leung joined the Columbia University faculty in 2007 and currently serves as the Program Medical Director for the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital Outpatient Child and Adolescent Pediatric Psychiatry Service (Community Services) at Columbia University Medical Center. In this capacity, she evaluates and treats children and adolescents with a particular expertise in ADHD, and mood and anxiety disorders. She also formerly served as the Program Medical Director at New York Presbyterian Hospital's Special Needs Clinic, which specializes in the treatment of individuals and families who are experiencing symptoms from both medical and psychiatric conditions. Dr. Leung earned her medical degree from the McMaster University School of Medicine (Hamilton, Canada). She completed her general psychiatry residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore, MD) and her Child and Adolescent fellowship at the New York Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia and Cornell Universities. During her second year of child psychiatry training, she was selected to be the Chief Fellow for the Consultation Liaison Service at CUMC. She also completed her Public Psychiatry Fellowship at Columbia University.
