Biography: Dr. Robert J. Strauch is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow problems in adults and children. He has a special interest in nerve problems of the upper extremity, including carpal tunnel syndrome, and in treating congenital hand disorders. The specialty of hand surgery melds together elements and principles of orthopedic, plastic, neurological and vascular surgery to restore and maximize hand and upper extremity function, whether wielding a jackhammer, throwing a baseball, or playing the violin. Dr. Strauch has authored and co-authored numerous articles in the field of hand surgery and is actively engaged in basic and clinical research. He served as President of the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand in 2006-2007. Dr. Strauch has been included in the list of New York Magazine's and "Best Doctors in New York" in addition to being regularly listed in America's Top Doctors. Care Philosophy: Dr. Popescu is a graduate of Carol Davila School of Medicine in Bucharest, Romania and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at North Shore University Hospital at Forest Hills, NY. Dr. Popescu has worked in various settings including emergency room, urgent care, office, and hospital being familiar and comfortable with minimally invasive procedures as well as with the typical acute and non-acute internal medicine practice. She is the recipient of the Physician Recognition Award in 2003 and 2008. She is a member of the American College of Physicians and of the American Medical Association. She is board certified in Aesthetic Medicine and Internal Medicine and she is a Fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery.
