Biography: Dr. Bret Taback is a nationally recognized surgical oncologist in the New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center department of surgery. Dr. Taback is a leader in the clinical management of melanoma, sarcoma and skin/soft tissue tumor surgery. Dr. Taback is the Director of the Melanoma and Sarcoma Program and Director of the Breast Surgery Fellowship. Dr. Taback received his MD degree at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston , and completed his general surgery residency at Brown University, Rhode Island Hospital. During that time he completed a Basic Science Research Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School in Boston. Following this, he completed a fellowship in Complex Surgical Oncology at the John Wayne Cancer Institute, Santa Monica, California. Dr. Taback is a member of a number of organizations and societies including Society of Surgical Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has published and authored numerous peer review manuscripts, abstracts and presentations, as well as book chapters over the years in notable publications such as Annals of Surgery, Annals of Surgical Oncology, Cancer Research, Clinical Cancer Research and the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. He is a clinical investigator with SWOG and Alliance for clinical trials. Dr. Taback has served on numerous hospital committees including tumor boards, Institutional Review Boards, Oncology Operations Council and is the American College of Surgeon's Commission on Cancer Physician Liaison for NYP Hospital. Biography: Stephanie M Gallitano, MD, joined the faculty of the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University and the staff of NewYork-Presbyterian in 2017. She is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Dermatology, Director of Milstein and Allen Hospital Inpatient Consultation, and Dermatology Residency Program Director. She received her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She completed her medical internship at New York University Hospital and completed her Dermatology residency at SUNY-Downstate where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Gallitano's unique areas of interest include treating patients with dermatologic conditions related to their history of solid organ transplantation, cancer-treatment-related skin reactions, skin reactions that occur during hospitalization, and autoimmune/autoinflammatory skin disease. She enjoys caring for patients with cutaneous skin infections or skin diseases related to immunosuppression. She enjoys collaborating with colleagues throughout the institution to provide multidisciplinary care that results in optimal outcomes for patients. She is happiest when her patients get better. In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Gallitano enjoys teaching residents during clinic, didactics and bedside rounds. Biography: Dr. Lindsey Bordone is a board-certified dermatologist in the Department of Dermatology of Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) who sees patients at ColumbiaDoctors Midtown and at the CUMC main campus. Dr. Bordone has expanded the clinical activities of the department specifically in the area of adult general dermatology managing all conditions of the skin, hair, and nails including among others acne, psoriasis, eczema, and skin allergies. Dr. Bordone graduated from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences of Columbia University and then received her MD from Rutgers University, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She was a melanoma research fellow in the Department of Dermatology at CUMC before completing two years of residency in Internal Medicine and a three-year residency in Dermatology at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital. Dr. Bordone is a Member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Medical Association and the Dermatologic Society of Greater New York.

Biography: Dr. Salvatore Caruana is the Director of the Division of Head and Neck Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University Medical Center. He is a widely respected head and neck surgeon in the forefront of the surgical treatment of tumors of the mouth pharynx, larynx and sinuses, parathyroid surgery, thyroid gland, and salivary glands. He is a pioneer in laser microsurgery for pharyngeal and laryngeal cancers. Dr. Caruana is an Associate Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Caruana graduated cum laude from the University of Buffalo and completed his Doctor of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. His general surgery training at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center was followed by a residency in Otolaryngology at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He then completed an NIH funded two-and-a-half-year fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Biography: Dr. Esther Kim is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Associate Program Director of the Dermatology Residency Program at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Kim received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her medical degree from the University of Central Florida. She completed her Transitional Year internship at the University of Central Florida, Osceola Regional Medical Center and completed her Dermatology residency at the University of Chicago where she was selected as Chief Resident.Dr. Kim is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Women's Dermatologic Society. She has authored numerous publications and presented research at national and local conferences. She has a strong interest in medical dermatology and graduate medical education. Biography: Dr. S. Sunghyun Yoon is the Chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology and Vice-Chair of Surgical Oncology Research and Education in the Department of Surgery at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC). Dr. Yoon is a national and international expert in the treatment of patients with sarcomas and other soft tissue tumors, gastric (stomach) and gastroesophageal cancers, gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), and melanoma. He also has over 18 years of experience in the treatment of other gastrointestinal and abdominal tumors, hepatobiliary tumors, neuroendocrine/adrenal tumors, lymphomas, and spleen tumors. He has been the principal investigator of several clinical trials examining novel treatment strategies and given numerous invited national and international lectures in relation to these cancers. Several of these trials have investigated the treatment of sarcomas, especially abdominal/retroperitoneal sarcomas, with advanced radiation techniques such as proton beam radiation and aggressive surgical resection to minimize local recurrence. He has one of the world's largest experiences in performing prophylactic total gastrectomies for patients with hereditary diffuse gastric cancer (HDGC syndrome) secondary to germline CDH1 mutation. He pioneered a technique for connection of the small bowel to the esophagus after total gastrectomy that is used by former surgical trainees and colleagues throughout the country due to its extremely low leakage rate. Dr. Yoon graduated from Harvard University and received his M.D. from the University of California at San Diego. He completed his residency in general surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and his fellowship in surgical oncology at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He was an Associate Professor of Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School before joining the staff at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in 2012. Dr. Yoon was an Attending Surgeon in the Division of Gastric and Mixed Tumors at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and a Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College before joining CUIMC in 2021. Dr. Yoon's main research interests are in cancer stem cells and targeted biological agents in combination with chemotherapy and radiation therapy. His laboratory has been funded by the National Institutes of Health/National Cancer Institute for 18 years and strives to translate new research discoveries into the clinic. Biography: Dr. Iwamoto is a neuro-oncologist whose previous training includes a neurology residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and a neuro-oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. For over three years, Dr. Iwamoto was an attending physician and an investigator at the Neuro-oncology Branch, a trans-institute branch of the National Cancer Institute and National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, in Bethesda, MD. At the intramural NIH, Dr. Iwamoto was a principal investigator in early phase clinical trials for brain tumors and worked with laboratory and computational scientists on several translational projects in brain tumors. Dr. Iwamoto was recruited to Columbia University as the Deputy Director of the Neuro-oncology Division and is actively developing the clinical and translational research components of this program. He is an expert in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of brain and spinal cord tumors as well as neurological complications of cancer.
