Dr. Renee Saenger, MD

Biography: Dr. Saenger received her undergraduate degree in history from Columbia College of Columbia University. She went on to receive her medical degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons where she was awarded an NIH medical student research fellowship. After completing her training in general psychiatry at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center, Dr. Saenger completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center/Weill Cornell Medical Center. She supervises and teaches residents at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

Biography: She is double board certified in General Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She has an interest in Psychotic disorders and mood disorders in the Geriatric Population. Dr. Awatramani received her medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas and trained at Louisiana State University Shreveport, where she served as Chief Resident of Education as a third year resident and Administrative Chief Resident as a Fourth year. She then went on to complete a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at theNewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health Center, Cornell University. Dr Awatramani also remains active in teaching medical students, psychiatry residents and geriatric psychiatry fellows. She is an active participant in the American Psychiatric Association and received the Resident Recognition Award for Excellence in Family Oriented Care at the Annual APA meeting (2015). She has received a Scholar's Award during Residency for outstanding performance in Academics. Dr Awatramani was the Chair Person and organizer for the first Mental Health Awareness Walk in Shreveport, Louisiana(2014) to promote the awareness of mental health in the community.
