He then stayed on as teaching faculty at the Bayfront Health family medicine residency program for a short term, before moving to the Lutz/Land O'Lakes area and establishing an outpatient practice. Dr. Santayana is a Tampa Bay native and a fluent Spanish speaker who enjoys teaching his patients, as well as continuing to teach residents and medical students. His interests include preventative medicine, diabetes, procedures, global health, and practicing the full scope of family medicine.Outside of work, he enjoys the beach and boating. Tampa Bay professional sports, traveling, and spending time with his wife and 2 children.
