Dr. Patel combines her expertise and training with compassion to help women achieve their best health. She strives to form a comfortable partnership with the women she treats. She received her undergraduate degree in physiological science from the University of California, Los followed by a master's degree in physiology and biophysics from Georgetown University. Dr. Patel then earned her medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School.Dr. Patel assumed several leadership roles during residency, including serving as the patient safety and quality improvement chief and as a resident representative on the RN/Resident Council. She was inducted into the Gold Humanism Society as a medical student and received the prestigious UT Dell Medical School Women's Health Humanism Award in residency.Dr. Patel believes she serves her patients best by learning new skills and information. She completed the work to become a NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioner so that she can provide lifetime care for her patients. During her medical and residency training, Dr. Patel completed several research projects. Some projects included a survey about birth control knowledge for patients with a high-risk of developing endometrial cancer and a case series on ovarian tissue preservation.Dr. Patel is a proud member of the American Medical Association, an associate member of The North American Menopause Society (NAMS) and a junior fellow with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.During her free time, Dr. Patel enjoys traveling, hiking and playing board games with family and friends.
