Biography: Keyur Chavda, MD, is a board certified bariatric and general surgeon who cares for patients ages 18 and older who speaks fluent English, Hindi, and Gujarati. In addition to bariatric surgery, Dr. Chavda treats patients who need various procedures, including acid reflux, hiatal hernia, gallbladder, spleen, stomach, and hernia surgeries.Dr. Chavda earned his medical degree from the B.J. Medical College in Ahmedabad, India. He then completed his general surgery residency at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania and a bariatric fellowship at the University of Florida in Jacksonville. Dr. Chavda is certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Biography: Fred Howard, M.D., is board certified in general surgery and is known among his patients as jovial and approachable. He attended the University of Missouri Columbia, where he also completed his residency. A former pitcher for the Chicago White Sox, Dr. Howard practiced in Winter Haven before joining Heart of Florida Physician Group. Dr. Howard provides care for wound care patients and general surgery patients in the greater Lake Wales area. He treats patients with non-healing wounds in an outpatient setting at the Wound Care Center for Lake Wales Medical Center.

Care Philosophy: Rahila Essani, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is board-certified colorectal surgeon. Dr Essani earned her medical degree from the Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed three research fellowships at the University of Southern California, where she also completed her internship and residency in surgery. She finished a second residency in general surgery. She completed her colorectal surgery fellowship program at Grant Medical Center, Ohio. She also completed a fellowship in advanced management of rectal cancer at Lankenau Hospital, PA. Dr Essani developed the rectal cancer program and the robotic general and colorectal program at Baylor Scott and White Clinic in Temple, Texas.

Care Philosophy: Mark Casebolt, MD is a board certified general surgeon with over two decades of experience providing general surgical care. He utilizes the latest techniques and procedures and he offers compassionate care to his patients. His specialties include gallbladder removal, hernia surgery, intestinal surgery and wound care. Dr. Casebolt prides himself on giving his patients comprehensive, high level care that exceeds the expectations of the Ocala community. In his spare time he enjoys home projects, travel and watching sporting events.
