Biography: Christopher W. Flowers, MD is a board-certified and sports medicine fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon at Texas Bone & Joint in Denton, Texas. He specializes in the treatment and prevention of sports and non-sports-related injuries to the shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist, knee, and foot and ankle.A fourth-generation physician from Plano, Texas, Dr. Flowers providers sports medicine expertise as a team physician for Ryan High School, Denton High School, and other local High Schools in the surrounding Denton Area. He is also the orthopedic consultant for the University of North Texas in Denton and Texas Women's University in Denton athletes. Care Philosophy: As an Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in treating conditions of the hip and knee, I do my utmost to return patients to an active, pain free lifestyle. I am fellowship trained in Adult Reconstruction, specializing in total hip and knee replacements with a large focus on partial knee replacements. My aim is to improve my patients' quality of life with the most minimally invasive way possible. I aim to use a patient's biology first, and many of my patients are helped through things like phyical therapy alone. While I love to operate, I strive to use this as the last option for my patients. This is the tact I would want my family treated with their medical problems. If surgery does become the last option, I try to utilize the least invasive surgical procedure to fix the problem. Optimizing the treatment to best improve my patients' function and pain relief while minimizing the risks and downtime is one of my primary goals.
