Biography: Enrique J. Garcia-Pena, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Texas Bone & Joint and practices in Houston, Texas. Dr. Garcia-Pena was born and raised on the island of Puerto Rico and is a native Spanish speaker. He received a bachelor's degree in Biology from the prestigious University of Chicago and then obtained a Master's degree in Medical Sciences and Research from Boston University. He then returned home to Puerto Rico to continue his lifelong dream of practicing medicine and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. Dr. Garcia-Pena completed his residency program in Orthopedic Surgery at one of the busiest trauma hospitals in the Caribbean and well-known throughout the region: the Medical Sciences Center from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine.Dr. Garcia-Pena completed his fellowship training at the Baylor College of Medicine and Ironman Sports Medicine Institute in Houston, Texas. Dr. Garcia-Pena served as assistant to the Team Physician of the Houston Texans, Houston Astros, Houston Rockets, Houston Dynamo, University of Houston Athletics, and area high schools.Dr. Garcia-Pena specializes in arthroscopic procedures and joint reconstruction of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee with particular interest in sports medicine and helping patients maintain an active lifestyle. He focuses on building a strong patient-physician relationship and works closely with patients, therapists and trainers to optimize both surgical and non-surgical outcomes. His main goal is to get our patients back to whatever sport or activity they enjoy the most, whether they are a competitive athlete, a weekend warriors, or an individual with an active lifestyle.Dr. Garcia-Pena is delighted to over see the newest addition to the prestigious Texas Bone and Joint medical practice. Biography: Paul Goodwyn M.D is an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in orthopedic trauma and general orthopedic surgery with Texas Bone and Joint in Houston, TX. Dr. Goodwyn completed a fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma at Sonoran. Dr. Goodwyn attended the State University of New York Upstate Medical University and completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of New Mexico. Before his medical career, Dr. Goodwyn graduated with distinction from the State University of New York with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry.Dr. Goodwyn is passionate about helping patients return to their maximal function after an injury and is excited to practice with Texas Bone and Joint. He truly believes in treating the whole patient - not just treating X-rays or scans. He and his team truly take pride in their work and the care they give and want the best outcome for their patients - with or without surgery.When not working and treating his patients, Dr. Goodwyn enjoys music, spending time with family and friends, fitness, and anything outdoors.
