Care Philosophy: As an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee replacements, including the anterior hip approach, I strive to help patients get back to the activities that they enjoy most. Although joint replacement surgery may be the ultimate solution to arthritis for many patients, there are often non-operative treatments that can provide relief and improve quality of life. I enjoy getting to know my patients so that I can understand how arthritis affects their lives and so that we can discuss what treatment option best fits their individual goals. I earned my medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, completed my residency in orthopaedic surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and completed a fellowship training in adult reconstruction in Scripps Clinic. I am currently a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS). During my time away from the hospital I enjoy playing golf, working on home improvement projects and spending time with family and friends.

Biography: Dr. Katharine T. Criner is a caring and attentive orthopedic surgeon serving the community of Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Criner attended Temple University, where she received her medical degree, and completed both her residency in orthopedic surgery and internship in general surgery at Temple University Hospital. She also completed a fellowship in hand surgery at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopedic Institute. The focus of her practice is the adult (18 years and older) with injury or problems of the hand, wrist, elbow and upper arm. Dr. Criner is a part of Einstein Regional Orthopedics - SkS3. Dr. Criner is a strong proponent of education to empower individuals to opt for healthier choices and in effect improve their overall health. Some of the services she offers include orthopedic consultations, for injury and problems with the Hand, Wrist, Elbow and arm below the shoulder. Dr. Criner's approach to her patients is one of diligence, solutions, and relief.
