Biography: CharlesTyshkov, M.D. is Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and Attending Child Neurologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He graduated from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and finished his residency in Child Neurology at New York Presbyterian Columbia Medical Center. Dr. Tyshkov continued histraining at New York University Langone Medical Center, where he completed a fellowship in Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis.In addition to General Child Neurology, his clinical and research interests includeNeuroimmunology, Neuroinflammation, and the various autoimmune syndromes affecting the nervous system (ADEM, MS, NMO, etc.).Dr. Tyshkov is an active member of the Weill Cornell Medicine research community, where he is working with colleagues at the MS Center on investigating neuroradiological correlates of cognitive performance.

Biography: Dr. Zachary Grinspan is the Interim Chief of Child Neurology and Director of the Pediatric Epilepsy Program at Weill Cornell Medicine and the NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children's Hospital at Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is an Associate Professor in Pediatrics and in Population Health Sciences, and holds a Masters of Science in Biostatistics. He is also a Nanette Laitman Clinical Scholar at Weill Cornell Medicine.Dr. Grinspan received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. He completed a residency in Pediatrics at the Mass General Hospital for Children in Boston, a residency in child neurology at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City, and a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx in 2011. He then completed a post-doctoral research program in quality of care and clinical informatics at Weill Cornell Medicine, funded through the National Institutes of Health Neurologic Science Academic Development Award (NIH K12 NSADA). He is board certified in Pediatrics and Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology.A national leader in pediatric epilepsy research, he has more than 100 published research articles including collaborations with international experts across multiple disciplines (epilepsy, emergency medicine, critical care, health services research, informatics, biostatistics, machine learning, engineering, and economics). He leads several large multi-centered research projects supported including a CDC funded study of the epidemiology of rare epilepsies in New York City, a 25-center grant to build a national learning healthcare system for pediatric epilepsy, and an NIH study to study seizures in newborns.

Biography: Dr. Jules Beal is an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and an attending pediatric neurologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens.Dr. Beal received his medical degree (M.D.) from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He trained in Pediatrics at Cohen Children's Hospital in New Hyde Park, NY, and completed his residency in Child Neurology and a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy at the Montefiore Medical Center / Albert Einstein College of Medicine in The Bronx. He is board certified both in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology, and in Epilepsy by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.His clinical expertise is in childhood seizures, epileptic encephalopathies, neurocutaneous disorders, and migraine, in addition to general pediatric neurology. He has directed specialty clinics dedicated to neurocutaneous disorders and neurogenetic conditions. He also has extensive experience working with critically ill children and managing the neurologic manifestations and complications of complex medical diseases.In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Bealis active in research and education. He has initiated or been involved with multiple hospital-based quality improvement measures. He has participated in numerous clinical trials in child neurology and epilepsy, and has published more than 20 journal articles and chapters. Dr. Beal regularly gives talks to medical professionals on various topics in child neurology, and has been invited to speak at conferences by the American Epilepsy Society and the International League Against Epilepsy. He is a member of the American Epilepsy Society and the Child Neurology Society.

Biography: Dr. Asim Shahid is an associate professor of clinical pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Attending Pediatric Neurologist/Epileptologist at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He will also serve as the division chief of pediatric neurology and epilepsy at NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital with the task of expanding the services provided by the division. Before joining the Brooklyn faculty, Asim served as division chief of pediatric neurology and epilepsy at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland Ohio. Asim obtained his medical degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Dominican Republic and completed his pediatric residency in Morristown, NJ before pursuing his pediatric neurology fellowship at Rainbow babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland, OH. He then completed his epilepsy training at University Hospitals of Cleveland. Asim has worked as a pediatric epileptologist since 2009 treating patients with medically refractory epilepsies with special interest in patients with epileptic encephalopathies, tuberous sclerosis complex and those with surgically remediable epilepsies. Asim also has an interest in clinical trials for patients with medically refractory epilepsy. Asim believes in providing timely, high-quality care to all his patients and focuses on family centered model. Given his interest in education and aligning with the academic mission of the institution, he strongly believes in evidence-based medicine and staying up to date with the latest research.
