Biography: Dr. Cook was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1968 and then moved to London, England as a young child. At the age of 8, his family moved to Westport, Connecticut where he spent the majority of his pre-collegiate life. In 1986, he graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biology and a minor in studio art and sculpture. After receiving a full scholarship and teaching assistantship, Dr. Cook remained at Tulane University where he graduated with a Master of Science degree in cellular and molecular biology. In 1996, Dr. Cook earned his Medical Doctorate at the Tulane University Medical School with acceptance into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Following his medical degree, Dr. Cook undertook his general surgery internship and neurosurgical residency at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated in 2002. Since that time, Dr. Cook has been in private neurosurgical practice and relocated to Austin, Texas in 2014 where he remains a partner at Central Texas Brain & Spine (CTBS). Dr. Cook's professional affiliations include membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (FAANS) and has been board-certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery since 2007. He utilizes advanced technologies such as image-guided surgery and minimally invasive techniques when indicated. He strives to remain current on new surgical techniques and he has extensive experience in all aspects of spinal surgeries including cervical and lumbar fusions, cervical disk replacements, non-fusion stabilization devices and sacroiliac fusions. Dr. Cook has a vast amount of experience with neuromodulation procedures including cervical and thoracic spinal cord stimulator implants, revision surgeries for poorly functioning or failed spinal cord stimulator systems as well as peripheral nerve stimulator surgeries including occipital nerve stimulator implants. Biography: Dr Douglas Fox is a board certified, fellowship trained neurosurgeon with a special interest in surgically treating complex spinal conditions with minimally invasive techniques and innovative technologies. Dr Fox is trained to treat any of your neurological surgical needs, specifically those that require brain or spinal surgery. After finishing his undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University in 1995. He went on to complete his medical degree at Washington University in 1999. Following his residency, he completed two additional years of training with fellowships in cerebrovascular surgery with Robert Spetzler, M.D. and complex spinal surgery with Volker K Sonntag, M.D. at the Barrow Neurological Institute.
