Biography: Dr. Andrew Chen was born and raised in the Bay Area, graduating from college at the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in integrative biology. He earned his medical degree at Case Western Reserve University after spending time as a personal fitness trainer and graduate student in physiological science at the University of California, Los Angeles. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Michigan and his cardiovascular disease training at the Scripps Clinic. Dr. Chen's clinical interests include promotion of optimal health through a sound diet and exercise, as well as management of lipids and atherosclerotic disease. His other areas of interest include valvular disease, heart failure, and cardiac arrhythmias. His goal is to help educate his patients in a comprehensive manner so that they can play an active role in their healthcare. Outside of work, he enjoys resistance training, following the NFL, and spending time with his son and wife.

Biography: Dr. Rod Serry is a Chicago native and attended Carleton College in Northfield,Minnesota. After medical school at RushMedical College and Internal Medicine residency at Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke'sMedical Center, he completed fellowships in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology at UCSD Medical Center. Dr. Serry trained further at El Camino Hospital (Mountain View, CA) in the minimally invasive treatment of complex peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Serry is board certified in both Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology, and has been practicing with Escondido Cardiology Associates since 2007. Dr. Serry's area of specialty is Interventional Cardiology, with particular interest in lower extremity revascularization to avoid amputation, aortic aneurysm repair, and carotid artery stenting. He maintains privileges at Palomar Medical Center, Pomerado Hospital, Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, and UCSD Medical Center.

Biography: Dr. Mikhail Malek received his medical degree from Cairo University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Cardiology at Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. Dr. Malek underwent intensive training in Interventional Cardiology at Saint Francis Hospital where he also served as Chief Medical Resident and Chief Cardiology Fellow. Dr. Malek is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, and Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, Egyptian Medical Association, California Medical Association, and San Diego County Medical Society. Dr. Malek is currently Medical Director of Cardiovascular Services at both Palomar Medical Center and Pomerado Hospital. He is also Chairman of the Cardiology Committee and a member of the Multi-Speciality Peer Review Committee at Palomar Medical Center. He has held past positions as Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Chairman of the Medical Education and Library Committee at Palomar Medical Center. He was voted ``Physician of the Year`` in 1995 by Palomar Hospital's Cardiac Care Unit and was selected as one of ``America's Top Physicians`` by Consumer's Research Council of America in 2006. Dr. Malek has been practicing Interventional Cardiology with Escondido Cardiology Associates since 1997. He is an active speaker in the community of Escondido teaching and raising awareness about cardiovascular disease. He is married to Germaine Malek, M.D. and has two children. His interests include music and photography.
