Biography: Hani S. Sabahi, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist practicing in Fairfax and Reston, Virginia, as part of the team at Advanced Medical GI PC (AMGi PC).Dr. Sabahi brings his 9 years of experience in the field of gastroenterology, with special interest in managing patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), chronic constipation, and colon cancer screening.Dr. Sabahi has a research background in irritable bowel syndrome, Barrett's esophagus, hepatitis C antiviral therapies, chronic constipation, and fecal microbiota transplantation. Dr. Sabahi received his medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2008.He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine, followed by Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL.He served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of South Alabama, before moving to Virginia.He is currently a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America.

Looking for risk factors before they become diseases is a very important part of my practice. Spending the time and effort in risk stratifying the patient goes a long way in disease prevention.
