Biography: Mark Edgcomb, D.O. is a board certified General Surgeon with Houston Colon. Dr. Edgcomb received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marquette University. He then went on to Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences where he earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Edgcomb completed his internship in General Surgery at Rush University Medical Center followed by a General Surgery residency at Centura Health St. Anthony Hospital. Dr. Edgcomb completed his medical training with a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery-Advanced Colorectal from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Dr. Edgcomb is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is an active member of several professional memberships such as American College of Surgeons, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Dr. Edgcomb has participated in several research, lectures, and presentations throughout his career. Dr. Edgcomb knows that Colon and Rectal care takes a collaborative and holistic approach. Biography: Dr. Amanda Garza is a Texas native, born in the city of Mission in the Rio Grande valley. After her grandmother passed away from breast cancer, Dr. Garza dedicated herself to her studies to become a doctor to help families in similar circumstances. Dr. Garza is a fluent Spanish speaker. Dr. Garza specializes in general laparoscopic procedures and diseases of the breast. She truly enjoys performing laparoscopic Nissen procedures for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) as well as spleen and thyroid procedures. Dr. Garza loves reading mystery and crime novels, dogs, and spending time with friends and family.
