Biography: Dr Saldanha is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon with additional fellowship training in Adult Joint Reconstruction and Orthopedic Trauma. He specializes in Hip Replacement, Knee Replacement, Hip and Knee Revisions, Fracture Care and Trauma Injuries. Following completion of his orthopedics training, Dr Saldanha volunteered for deployment in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. While serving he also founded the first orthopedic humanitarian clinic treating women and children displaced by the war. After returning to the United States Dr Saldanha served as an Orthopedic Traumatologist, training active Duty Airmen in war trauma techniques and assisted in the development of the Sustained Medical Airman Readiness Training program at the 99th Surgical Operations Squadron in Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.From 2013-2016 Dr Saldanha was an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery with the University of Nevada School of Medicine and completed further education in complex Adult Reconstruction under world renowned surgeon Anthony Hedley.Dr Saldanha is actively involved in orthopedic research. He is an associate editor for the International Journal of Advanced Joint Reconstruction and has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals. Biography: Dr. Lauren Kastner is a board-certified general surgeon. She was raised in Houston, Texas and completed her undergraduate studies at University of Texas at Austin. She then went on to complete medical school at Texas Tech Medical School in Lubbock, Texas and her surgical residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.Dr. Kastner practiced in rural Arkansas in the Mississippi delta region, a very underserved region, for five years prior to returning to Austin. She has a special interest in laparoscopic surgery, gallbladder surgery, hernia repair, breast surgery, skin surgery and robotics.In her free time, Dr. Kastner enjoys spending time with her husband, young son, two Catahoula dogs and a cat. He completed medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Apple then served four years in the United States Navy where he served as a staff surgeon at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. During his time in the Navy he was deployed twice to the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He completed his vascular surgery fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX. He is an active member of the Society of Vascular Surgery, Alpha Omega Alpha, the Society for Vascular Ultrasound and Parkland Surgical Society. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has received numerous teaching awards and published several papers in the field of vascular surgery. His special interests include the endovascular treatment of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms, the treatment of varicose vein disease and catheter-based procedures for arterial disease. Prior to joining CTVS, Dr. Apple practiced with Jackson Surgical Associates in Jackson, TN.
