Biography: Dr. Matthew Montgomery is an interventional heart failure cardiologist on the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Team. Dr. Montgomery's specialties include advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, heart transplantation and coronary interventions. Prior to coming to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Jersey City Medical Center, he worked as an Internal Medicine Hospitalist at Morristown Medical Center, Aria-Jefferson Health, and Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia. He completed fellowships in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center as well as Interventional and General Cardiology fellowships at Deborah Heart and Lung Center. He also completed his Internal Medicine residency training at Aria-Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Montgomery completed his medical education at Philadelphi College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also holds a Master's in Public Health from Yale School of Public Health and a Master's in Business Administration from St. Joseph's University. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine from the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and is licensed in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
