Biography: Dr. Claudius Mahr, FACC, FESC, FHFA, FRSM is a cardiologist at Medical City Heart Hospital in Dallas, Texas specializing in the comprehensive, longitudinal care of patients with all etiologies of cardiovascular conditions, heart failure, and cardiomyopathy, utilizing the latest available medical, surgical and device therapies, including mechanical assist devices and heart transplantation.Dr. Mahr was recruited to Texas to serve as Executive Director of the Institute for Advanced Cardiac Care, as well as the System Director of Heart Failure at Medical City Healthcare. He has received formal fellowship training and board certification in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology, and has extensive experience in the care of patients with cardiovascular conditions. Having received numerous professional awards over his career, he is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the European Society of Cardiology, and the Royal Society of Medicine London, to name a few. Dr. Mahr is an internationally recognized leader in his field, a physician-scientist serving on several scientific advisory boards and steering committees, and an invited faculty lecturer at numerous national and international scientific meetings.Dr. Mahr serves in leadership roles for various professional organizations. He is current the President Elect of ASAIO. He is an active member of the American College of Cardiology, the European Society of Cardiology, the Heart Failure Association of the ESC, ASAIO, and the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation. Biography: Dr. Kartik Telukuntla joined North Texas Heart Center in 2021 after completing his Cardiovascular Medicine and Advanced Heart Failure/Transplantation fellowships at Cleveland Clinic. He earned his Medical Degree at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine and subsequently completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.Dr. Telukuntla is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant. During residency, he received the Senior Resident Teaching Award. He has been inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He has been heavily involved in heart failure research and quality improvement initiatives. His clinical interests include general cardiology, congestive heart failure, mechanical circulatory support and cardiac transplantation. He is very excited to join North Texas Heart Center and provide high quality cardiovascular care to his patients in the DFW area. He lives with his wife and son in Dallas.
