He was attentive and informative. My cabag was done with no complications and a fantastic recovery path. I don't see how it could have gone better.

Very knowledgeable
Dr. Rafael is very knowledgeable. However, his accent often made it difficult to understand what he was saying. He had to takr a call and replied to several text messages unrelated to me while I was sitting with him. This open heart surgery will be my 1st surgery and he seemed a bit rushed during my visit. I had seen two cardiologist before meeting with Dr. Rafael and also knew only 1% of the population has an abnormal RCA. He stated my artery is routed between my heart valves and will need to be rerouted/bypassed outside as it should. He said he needed to talk to another dr how they woukd do it. I asked when would I know what route they would take he said the day of surgery. ?? I planned to schedule my surgery in two months. Why would he not provide me the information before hand? Although he is extremely knowledgeable, I did not feel he would be the best surgeon for me.

Dr Rafael saved my life... after 5 way open heart bypass surgery he performed... today I am back up and living life again! Gracias Doctor Rafael

We had seen other CV surgeons, who had told us that the surgery necessary was too high risk and declined to do it. Dr. Rafael gave us options that no one else was willing to provide and the outcome was better than any of us anticipated.
