Biography: Dr. Chou's research is focused on the role of the pulmonary lymphatics in acute lung injury, and specifically the role of the receptor PAR1 in lymphatic endothelial cells. Whereas the receptor PAR1 has demonstrated an inflammatory and detrimental role in lung injury in blood endothelial cells, his research has found a divergent and beneficial role of PAR1 in lymphatic endothelial cells in acute lung injury. Dr. Chou received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University. He completed his medical training, residency training, and fellowship training at Weill Cornell, where he served as Chief Fellow. His research is supported by the Pulmonary T32 program, the Burroughs Wellcome Weill Cornell Physician-Scientist Program, and the Stony Wold-Herbert Grant.
