Biography: Dr. Dimitris Kiosses completed his undergraduate degree at Tufts University and received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies of Adelphi University. He completed his internship at Hillside Hospital-Long Island Jewish Medical Center and has been working at the Weill Cornell Medicine Institute for Geriatric Psychiatry since 1997. Dr. Kiosses is a NY State licensed psychologist and has been trained in Cognitive Therapy at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research. He is certified in Problem Solving Therapy and Supportive Psychotherapy.Dr. Kiosses' research focuses on the development of psychosocial interventions for middle-aged and older adults with depression, suicidal ideation, chronic pain or cognitive impairment. He has developed psychosocial interventions for vulnerable patients, including patients who have been hospitalized for suicidal ideation or suicide attempt, patients with major depression and cognitive impairment, patients with negative emotions and chronic pain, and patients who have been discharged afterECT treatment.His researchhas beensupported by grants from the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institute on Aging, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Brain and Research Foundation, and Alzheimer's Association.Dr. Kiosses has developed Problem Adaptation Therapy (PATH), an emotion regulation psychosocial intervention for older adults with depression and cognitive impairment, which aims to reduce depression and disability in this population. PATH focuses on improving the functioning of older adults with cognitive deficits in their actual environment. PATH therapists use environmental adaptation tools (i.e. signs, calendar, notes) to help older adults with cognitive deficits bypass their functional and cognitive limitation and incorporate caregiver or family member involvement, if necessary. She completed internship and residency at Montefiore Medical Center, where she served as Outpatient Chief in her final year, and completed an administrative fellowship as Senior Chief Resident. She subsequently completed a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. DellaCava has pursued academic research to improve communication in medical students and to decrease loneliness in older adults. The interventions she has developed build skills derived from improvisational theater. She has implemented a program using these skills in a medical education setting, and she has completed a pilot project looking at the feasibility and acceptability of this intervention in older adults. She has presented at national conferences regarding these topics.Dr. DellaCava's professional interests include medical student and resident education, geriatric psychiatry, loneliness and social isolation in adults, and psychotherapy.

Biography: Dr. John Mahlstedt attended Union College where he obtained a bachelor of arts in managerial economics and graduated Summa Cum Laude and was selected for the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. There he earned numerous other honors, including awards for academic excellence and service to the college community. He then went on to earn his Medical Degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where he earned an award for his research work and earned honors in various clerkships for clinical excellence, including psychiatry. Dr. John Mahlstedt then went on to complete his internship and residency in adult psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Medical Center and served as Chief Resident during his last year of residency. Dr. Bress has received research support from the National Institute of Mental Health, the Joseph Sanchez Foundation, the Weill Cornell Children's Health Investigators Fund, and the Weill Cornell Mastercard Diversity-Mentorship Collaborative. She is currently conducting a study to better understand the changes in brain activity that occur over the course of a neurobiologically informed, reward-focused psychotherapy for older adults with depression. In a separate line of research, Dr. Bress is part of a collaborative study team investigating a mobile app-based intervention for young adults with depression and anxiety.

Biography: Dr. Patricia Marino earned her undergraduate degree from Binghamton University, State University of New York, a master's degree in Psychological Measurement and Evaluation from New York University, and completed the doctorate program in Clinical Psychology with a Health Emphasis at Yeshiva University's Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology.
