Natalie Castillo, NP

My son recently moved to Nashville Tn and needed to sign up with a new cardiologist. So the cardiologist he was scheduled to see retired so he was rescheduled with Natalie. He has been heart healthy and getting fit . She decided to tell him that he was lucky to be alive because pts don't live more than a couple if years after his diagnosis of myocarditis. Really? She was not professional informing him of morbidity rates. Instilling fear in him about his future lifespan is cruel. Instead of speaking words of positivity to acknowledge he hard work of getting healthy she chose to be buzzkill. As a parent I was nauseated thinking this encounter with a medical professional actually occurred. I hope she reads this review and learns from it how to be a more positive medical provider.

Curt and self-absorbed. During the appointment she barely took notice of me until the subject of diet and lifestyle came up, and I said that I occasionally enjoyed barbecued and smoked meats. I hesitate to use the word 'triggered' but her response was out of all proportion to the subject at hand. She then launched into a diatribe on the benefits of a vegan lifestyle. instead of being focused on me as a patient she seemed to be on a crusade of some sort.

I was transitioned from a Cardiologist to Natalie Castillo, NP. She has a pleasant personality, however she was not at all organized or experienced. She ordered a number of expensive tests that were not approved by insurance, and she didn't respond to the insurance (or my) requests for clarifications for over 2 months. Also had issues with prescriptions. I would have been better served if she had consulted with her supervising physician before taking actions.
