This doctor made my sick loved one feel taken advantage of. He didn't say he didn't take insurance before the start of the appointment, and told him at the end that he couldn't take him as patient because he didn't have a job and then said that he owed him $200. Then the doctor processed the credit card himself at his computer. My loved one is not well and didn't understand what was happening or what to do.

I saw to Dr. Gartner after a series of traumatic events in my life ended to receive the psychological counseling & diagnosis I needed after those events. I cycled through a number of psychologists and found Dr. Gartner to be the best one to stick with because he isn't concerned with just seeing as many patients as possible for financial gain and therefore isn't unhelpfully agreeable like most psychologists. He is going to say exactly what you need to hear very objectively & its going to be based

Dr. Gartner is a colleague whom I've known for many years. He is an accomplished & respected clinician; thorough & experienced in diagnostics and treatment of a variety of psychiatric disorders. He is compassionate, easy going and very well liked by both patients and staff. Dr. Gartner has also published and edited several books which have garnered national acclaim. I would gladly refer patients, family or friends to Dr. Gartner knowing that they would receive the highest standard of care.

I saw John Gartner in his Sheppard Pratt office. He was not affiliated with Sheppard Pratt, he just rented office space there. Over the course of many sessions, he gladly took the checks I wrote him to pay for the therapy sessions. Then after many sessions of me talking to him and him asking me questions, he told me that his conclusion about my childhood abuse was that I had deserved it because I had acted nasty. He is a horrible person and I have no idea how he still has a license.
