Trimaleolar Ankle Surgery
In Jan 2009, Dr. Lohrer operated on my right ankle when I twisted it and fell resulting in a trimaleolar fracture. He performed the first surgery on this foot and a week later a second surgery. I was sent to a rehab for eleven weeks. A year later he removed plate and all but one pin. I do not even know that pin is somewhere in my foot. He did one fantastic job on my ankle and it is now 16 years later and this foot does not have arthritis in it. He takes pains to get it right and I believe that is what made all the difference. He is a wonderful surgeon. He is not the doctor who operated on my left ankle when my foot slipped going down the stairs, twisted and broke resulting in a trimaleolar fracture in Sep 2000. The left ankle has been very painful and full of arthritis for years following that break. I wish Dr. Lohrer had been the surgeon who operated on my left ankle when I was brought to the ER that day because I strongly feel the outcome would have been so much better.
