Dr. William Athans, MD

If you do not need surgery, you will be rushed out and talked down to. This guy is probably the worst Dr. I've ever been to, that's saying a lot.

Rudest doctor I've ever been too.

I was very impressed with Dr. Athans. He took his time with me. He used a model of a knee to explain the findings of my MRI, and he is a surgeon, who suggested trying other options before surgery.

He is giving me hope. He was the only surgeon with the confidence to take on my surgery

I’d been going for 3 years seeing Athens knowing I’d need hip surgery but very scared! I first time I went I was 55 I finally gave up and had surgery at 59. Covid was running crazy so I was double scared! Dr Athens was always calm, not flowery but made me feel safe! You don’t need a flowery, showy surgeon, I wanted a serious matter of fact surgeon ! That’s exactly what I got, someone who would do a great job and take his surgery seriously! My hip joint was a mess, I’m only 2 months in! No blame to Dr Athens but I had an awful time getting my painkillers! The nurse called them in 4 times incorrectly! My husband and I had to go back and forth from their clinic to my pharmacy every week because it was wrong! The receptionists at the front helped me no end! I decided to stop taking my painkillers far too early because it was too stressful for my husband and I! My nurse care worker said I should report this nurse but this is as far as I’m going ! Athens seems wonderful surgeon!

I recently had total hip replacement surgery for my right hip. The surgery went smoothly and at 2 weeks post op, I am doing very well and the PT will undoubtedly put me in better shape than I have been in years. The type of hip replacement I had was an anterior approach hip replacement. If any of you find yourselves in need of a hip replacement, I would highly recommend looking into this approach and seeing Dr Athans.

Dr.Athans is a great Physician who wants you to have a say in your healthcare unlike most physicians and insurance providers who tell you what is going to happen and not ask your opinion in your own healthcare. Dr. Athans is very interested in knowing what you want and he will do everything he can do to avoid surgery in my case because I wanted to try non surgical treatment first. I would recommend Dr Athens to any of my loved ones.
