Dr. Wendy Summerhill, MD

I had a wellness visit with Nick Ahners on May 28, 2024. My first request was for Nick to write me a new prescription for my controlled substance medication. Nick mistakenly forgot to do so, which left me with a few pills available. I spoke with Dr. Wendy Summerhill after hours to see if I could get a new prescription. Dr. Summerhill told me to stretch out my remaining pills over the weekend, because their policy states no prescriptions or refills after hours or the weekends.Because Nick mistakenly forgot to write me a new prescription, Dr. Summerhill suggested I go to urgent care if I have a panic attack. She also suggested if I did not like their policy to seek another physician.What frustrates me the most is that I am currently on Cobra, effective June 1, 2024, and with the rising cost of healthcare, I don't want to be forced to go to urgent care and pay for an urgent care visit that could have been avoided.

We have scheduled an appointment through Ohio Health system. Ohio Health Mychart. There were dates available for almost every day of the week but after scheduling they called me from the doctor's office and told me that we had to cancel schedule or get a date for 2 -3 months later. This is rare for me.

Dr. Summerhill has always been there for our family. She will not push medication to get you out the door. I’ve always appreciated that about her. She has always steered us toward the right specialist and always takes her time to really hear what is going on. Staff has been under TREMENDOUS pressure these past two years so forgive them- any office staff for having to tell you the “New Rules”. Thank them for still being there. Office is top notch.

Very grumpy practice. Patients appear to be quite the nuisance. Routine prescription renewals are a pain - “we must see the patient”. A $100 plus for a 5 minute office visit for a $2 prescription. Nice money grab.

I have been coming here for over 15 years. The doctors and nurse practitioners at this office are awesome! However, their office staff is the worst and badly need to work on their customer service and empathy skills. Especially, the woman who works with billing. She always has a rude tone over the phone and in person. She frequently interrupts you, displaces blame, or is flat out dismissive. I really hope Dr. Summerhill reads these reviews and listens to her patients because I am clearly not the only one who has issues with the office staff.

RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! RUDE!..THE MOST RUDE practice i have ever spoken too. (Thankfully didn't have to see their faces). So i took an appointment as a new patient and completely forgot about it! Since there was no reminder, no Text confirmation, No email and absolutely no mention of their rude cancellation policy. And when i called back and honesty stated that i missed my apt., they are sooo soo rude, repeating it is their 'office policy' not to entertain someone who has missed an apt/no show, and that is, for my whole life!! and to top it she just banged the phone on me!!! Is this medical profession they are in? punishing ppl for missing their appointments? We will not send any confirmation, any text reminder, any email (i dont event know which doctor i got apt with), but will have the guts to blacklist any no-shows. such ARROGANCE!! And very proudly they pronounce, 'its not a medical service, 'IT S A BUSINESS AND WE ARE HERE TO MAKE MONEY'. highly disappointing!!

Dr. Summerhill is very friendly and has great bedside manner. The wait time for appointments is also very short. They get you in an exam room very quickly. The nurses and techs are very friendly, although some are more knowledgeable than others. The front office staff is so incredibly rude, though. It seems like even the new people are snarky. Is that a requirement of the staff's on-boarding procedures? It's strange. It's a total contrast to Dr. Summerhill. I dread my interactions with her front office staff. If you ask a simple question, they act like you're hugely inconveniencing them. I'm seriously considering finding a new doctor because of this. It's not worth it.

I agree with most of the reviews. Dr. Summerhill is a wonderful doctor. But one of her office staff is terrible. I don't think this rude attitude helps the patients who are not feeling well.

I love Dr. Summerhill. She is very approachable and supportive. I have a huge problem with her front office staff, though. They are rude on the phone and in person. They act like you’re an uninvited guest at their party. Even when it’s someone new, I find them to be short and unfriendly. It’s almost like they’re trained to be unprofessional.

As the rest of these comments say, Dr Summerhill is wonderful but the issue is with her staff. The staff is beyond unprofessional and rude to the point of complete disrespect. The hassle isn't worth it. By all costs avoid.

My experience is that I never had one always saw her PA who I liked & respected. My issue is the professionalism and inflexibility of the staff when an old Blue Cross card was presented rather than the new one...put simply, they were able to get their money after resubmitting but felt that a $30 penalty was warranted. When I refused to pay I then received a letter of termination from the Dr. herself who, I NEVER saw...Funny. I wasn't going to respond until she turned me over to collection.

Dr. Wendy is always compasionate, truly listens & offers complete wellness advice.

This truely is a well run office. If you are looking for a professional atmosphere yet the warmth of a small town doctor then this is where you want to be.

I was unable to get Summerhill as my Dr as she was not accepting patients but I am able to see her PA Stephanie who has treated me and my sons. Stephanie is very caring and wonderful. I do not feel my care is lacking in any way. I have always found the office staff pleasant.

I went to this office 3 appointments. All 3 experiences were horrible. More so than any other doctor visit I have ever spent time with. Huge disappointment.
