Dr. Burkhead has operated on both of my shoulders. Each time the surgery went great. Dr. Burkhead and his staff did an excellent job making me feel comfortable the entire way through the process. He is the only orthopedic surgeon I will ever use.

Dr Burkhead treats his patients as though they were his only patient. He spends lots of time with you, explains your ailments and treats you very gently. He is head and shoulders above all other doctors.

Dr Burkhead repaired my rotator cuff twelve years ago, and I managed to create a small tear again which shots can handle since I use a walker. Our first meeting was when he just arrived at CC on Lemmon and he was so kind to my 83 year old mom who complained about her hand. X-rays showed nothing but he put her in a hand cast for 2 weeks and she never mentioned it again. And she lived till 96. His kindness to her as a new doc really meant a lot and has never been forgotten. One of my favorite doctors ever.

I’ve suffered with several joint issues for years. Dr Burkhead has repaired my shoulder now three times. Each time I’ve followed the healing instructions, but not following the guidelines long enough has caused injury again and again. This time after talking in depth with PTs and OTs they answered “Mr Lambert, those days are over !” So, this time when told it’s going to take this amount of time to heal I’m following the advice. Thanks Dr. Buzz , you’re the best.

Buzz has done wonders for my shoulder pain even though I elected alternatives to surgery. His PA Helene did my injections yesterday and an amazing job!

My visit to Carrell Clinic after both shoulders surgeries 28 & 19 years ago was not for “warranty” work, but to find out how am I doin? No pain, a tad stiff though. PT Exercise recommendations gets me back on the road. Listening to Buz Burkhead radio on Spotify during the trip certainly adds to my mood: we have similar very! eclectic taste in music entertainment. His verbose bedside manner without parallel. Doctor Burkhead has worked on me before maybe 10-12 years ago. He read my ex rays came in and looked over the area and within 2 minutes knew what was wrong. Ordered an injection kit and had me fixed up. Said it would be sore and maybe a couple of days to work completely. Last night no pain getting in and out of my bed and chair. Today even better. His experiences are fantastic .

Dr. Burkhead is amazing and he did an excellent job with my shoulder. He's very personable and direct with the entire surgery and recovery process. I have multiple family members who have used him, many of them with backgrounds in orthopedics and they all agree he's the one to go to in DFW.

Dr. Burkhead always knew what my problem was after X-ray and an MRI, explained, and discussed treatment options. He is an excellent upper extremity orthopedist.

Outstanding Service from initial appointment, surgery, physical therapy, to follow up appointments. Could not have asked for better care and guidance. Dr Burkhead is known for being one of the best at shoulder surgery. His staff has been amazing as well. My follow up and physical therapy took place at the Star and it couldn’t have been any better. Barely any wait times; super friendly staff; and great care from his assistant.

I've used Dr Burkhead for both my shoulder surgeries and one minor clean-up on the left shoulder and I couldn't be happier with the results. I was stronger, had more range of motion, and no pain after each of the surgeries. Can't imagine going to someone else.

Great follow up, personable, first rate physician's assistant also in Helena. Had in person visits and one Telehealth review before surgery. Helena Futch is the one I goto for injections in my shoulder -not only is she very professional but gives injections that do not hurt -She’s remarkable -explains everything and also very patient -She’s the best ! Dr. Burkhead is lucky to have her !!!!
