10/9/2023, Escobar, Victor, MD Family Practice I have been to this office twice, and I would not recommend it; the first time, I made an appointment and was eventually seen by the provider, who said I looked too sick and was sent to their preferred emergency room conveniently behind their offices. Which did not have the specialist or equipment to see me, sent me home, and told me to go to a specialist or an emergency room due my dizziness. Last week, with new insurance I needed a check-up and a new primary care doctor. I called from the website provided by United Healthcare as I went to this office last month, and the call prompts directed me to go to the online portal to make an appointment. I made an appointment last week on the portal, reviewed the dates and times the doctor was available, and confirmed. I arrived today at noon for a 12:30 PM appointment and was asked upon entry “What are you here for?”, I stated I had a 12:30 appointment with a doctor and was then told to sign in. I waited and was called; I had been here prior and had only changed insurance. The staff called me and asked why I was there. I told them I had an appointment, and I was then informed they didn’t see any appointment and asked for my name and DOB for cofirmation. I provided this and was again told I didn’t have an appointment. I stated I had followed the process and used their appointment page; the staff member informed me that he could see that I had used the appointment page and made an appointment, but that the doctor’s office group had never confirmed the appointment. Thus, I did not have an actual appointment until they confirmed and contacted me. I was then asked if I would like to schedule another appointment for the future or use the online portal. This is a medical office with 30 doctors on staff today; I was not offered the opportunity to see another provider or to wait to be seen by the doctor with whom I made the appointment. I was given the option to schedule in the future and not be seen today after making the trip, even though I had made an appointment prior and changed my schedule to be at their office today at the right time. I informed the staff, no, thank you. If you cannot confirm my appointment before my arrival, I will need to find a doctor or office who can provide confirmation when appointments are made. The staff said ok and went back to watching his phone.
