Dr. Venkatesh Segu, MD

The Dr. is nice and will explain things if you ask. The office staff is horrible. They speak rudely to the patients. There seems to be a lot of turnover in the office staff. I would not recommend.

I have been going to Dr Segu for about 2 to 3 years. I have found him to be more labs driven. He is knowledgeable and I trust his prescription and advices. Certain polices of his office are more commercial oriented, doesn’t seem to care for patients well being. Refusing to approve refills is not something I am able to understand the motive behind.

Dismissed and unconcerned.

I can't believe several of these negative reviews. Empathy, humility, patience, caring. These words would describe Dr Segu well. I've been going to Dr Segu for several months now and I have always had the same wonderful experience. And, you ALWAYS meet the doctor; not a Physician Assistant or a Nurse (like in other places I go to). Not just that, even the front desk is super helpful.

Had a horrible experience with this office today; total waste of time and money. They do not answer phones, and do not return calls - should have been a sign this is not the place for me. Dr. Segu was demeaning in nature, and he spoke to me as if I was a child. He was not interested in symptoms or what I was experiencing, only prior labs. My records were not thoroughly reviewed before my appointment, though they required me have them sent. I ended up leaving the office in tears because of the way he was speaking to me. I went there looking for advice and insight as to the hormone problems I had been experiencing and I wanted to know if there was any commonality or explanation for what I was going through. Instead I was ridiculed and told that I would "pay the price someday" for medications that another doctor had prescribed me. Im just trying to feel better and looking for answers; this was an awful visit.

Dr. Segu is kind and very thorough. However, he is all about labs and not about the whole picture. This is unfortunate because bloodwork doesn't show everything. If he would take time to listen and offer advice other than "lose weight" he might be able to help people who are having a serious problem. Since his move to the new office his front staff have totally changed their demeanor. What once was a calm and happy place to visit has now become a sterile unwelcoming place. Not to mention major billing issues. Double billing my insurance company (on multiple occasions), charging different amounts each visit (though it was the same as the one before). I have begun looking for a different physician.

Through our insurance we could do self referrals to any provider Called the office and was informed that “we are closing in 15 minutes and that patients can’t self refer to this office “although our insurance approves it “ Telling the lady who answered the phone that I am a physician and my family member has a low T of 123 did not help either Disrespectful Unfriendly Would not refer my own patients to this office??

I find some of these reviews very hard to believe. If I could leave this office NO stars, I would. Dr Segu himself doesn't seem like a bad man. He is polite and cordial, but also very dismissive. I want to warn anyone considering this office to be prepared for billing errors in which their office manager will not correct. I also feel as if it's worth mentioning that every 6 months they seem to be moving office buildings :( Save yourself the struggle and just go with another provider.

Dr. Segu is the best diabetic, thyroid doctor there is. He discovered my thyroid growth when several doctors never did. He is very informing and caring. Answers all questions. Theresa

Dr. Segu is one of the most invested and compassionate doctors I’ve seen. He really listens and has the best bedside manner. Thorough and so intelligent.

( Best Dr and Office I have ever been to). Dr. Segu brought me back to great health in dealing with my difficult endocrinology issues. He is a very knowledgeable and caring professional man. I trust him in all ways. I must also say that Dr. Segu's entire office operates the best I have even visited. Everyone handles ALL facets of billing, testing, appointments, etc., with warmth and true caring. I give Dr. Segu and his office my highest recommendation to all who read this, as I have been seeing Medical Staff in the past 7 decades.

Dr. Segu is very friendly, knowledgeable and easy to talk to.

I wish I could give him no stars but I had to click 1. Very unprofessional and uncompassionate. Belittled me and my children. Brushed off one of my health concerns. No manners at all! Will never return!!!

The staff communication skills are terrible, I am not sure that Dr. Segu knows what a lousy job his staff does. I received a statement from Dr. Segu’s office for $20, I paid that statement. I received another statement for $40, I called because it looked like I was overbilled. The person in the billing office hung up on me, I think she said her name is Murtintul (she does not speak English and I am not sure what she said even though I asked her several times).

Dr. Segu is a thoughtful doctor and so knowledgeable!

Dr Segu and his staff are always kind, friendly, and they don't keep you waiting. They have always been quick to return my calls and address my concerns. Dr Segu is thorough and patient and I never feel rushed.

Dr. Segu and staff have been extremely helpful in getting my thyroid under control and improving my overall health. I am feeling better than I have in years.

Very caring doctor that listens and takes patient concerns seriously. Highly recommend.

One of the best doctors I have had. Really takes the time to talk and listen. That being said sometimes the wait can be longer than some doctors.
