Dr. Venkata Kumarappa, MD

My appointment was at 8:45am but she still managed to be over 30 minutes late. I could barely get one sentence out before she was interrupting me and dismissing my concerns (which I had barely begun to list). She came across as rushed, rude, arrogant, incompetent, and lazy. Waste of time and money.

Upon first meeting, I knew Dr. Kumarappa was special. She had thoroughly reviewed my medical history and she didn't rush to get through my appointment. I was most impressed by the fact that she personally called me to deliver the results of the various diagnostic tests she had ordered. I have never before had that happen. She explained my condition in laymen's terms and patiently answered my questions. I was saddened when she relocated to Texas, as she had quickly become one of my favorite medical providers.

I was looking for a female doctor because I didn't want my symptoms to be brushed off as being to dramatic or just related to my period. the appointment was rushed. She diagnosed me with lactose intolerance and IBS-C, then handed me a FoodMap and I never heard back. I am still struggling with digestive issues a year and a half later.

Horrible bedside manner. Prep for a colonoscopy left me violently ill without actually working, though she knew of my previous issues with prep. Wound up in the ER instead (let her nurses instructions) where she arrived to discuss colonoscopy. Bedside manner left me and family member in tears to say the very least. Truly disheartening experience for someone who has been in and out of drs since age 8 for stomach issues.

Poor Had routine colonoscopy and endoscopy The colonoscopy was not properly done considering my entire health history which she knew. The prep was not appropriate for my health history Her nurse was unprofessional to the extreme. Do not recommend!!!!

Dr. Kumarappa is the best! She listens. The one thing I love about her is that she looks into your health record. She saw something that other Dr.s didn’t tell me about. She has saved my life twice! She is the bomb!!!!

Dr.K took great care of my mom who needed a complex procedure! I would recommend her for any GI issues. She is compassionate and thorough!

went in for a routine colonoscopy and came out severely injured. had to go to the ER a few days later for sever pain and had to see a surgeon to correct what was damaged. missed 3 months of work .. BEWARE

DR KUMARAPPA IS PRACTICING MOBILE, AL! PLEASE UPDATE MOBILE PAGE ASAP!! INFO ABOUT HER NOT PRACTICING HERE IS INCORRECT. I JUST SAW HER & SHE IS GREAT! PEOPLE IN THIS AREA HAVE TO KNOW THERE'S A GREAT OPTION NOW! (So needed) SHE'S NEW & PEOPLE LOOK TO YOUR SITE FOR INFO (I Did) THEY NEED KNOW TO TO GIVE HER A CHANCE. She's had more done in the last 2 weeks helping find me diagnoses than all other Drs of GI & other specialties, OVER THE PAST 5 YEARS PUT TOGETHER. That's even before her follow up!
