Dr. Varsha Mehta, MD

Been seeing her for nearly a year and she has messed up at least one of my prescriptions every other month. Sometimes it's the dosage, other times it's the type (extended release vs. normal). I think she just types it in manually each appointment. When I run out of meds she tells me she's not allowed to prescribe until we meet again at our monthly appointment, but then she gives me less than a 30 day supply.The worst part is each time I try to correct the prescription errors she argues with me and says 'you can't have been taking (dosage) I only gave you (incorrect thing) last time'. Or she'll say 'you shouldn't be doing that' when I explain the medication schedule she put me on at our first appointment. Also I'm an ADHD patient but she's asked me about my 'OCD' symptoms the last 3 appointments. I don't think she looks at my chart at all past the last prescription she wrote.

She is leis doesn't tell you what she is doing for you care and only cares about getting another appt and getting more money in her pocket.

Truly awful doctor. Wish I could give negative stars. Constantly on a power trip: "I am the doctor and you are the patient, therefore I am God". Rude, inconsiderate, and outrageously out of touch with current psychiatric research and medications. For example, prescribed me lithium because it was the "standard treatment for bipolar disorder", when lithium is no longer a first-line medication for bipolar treatment. Do yourself a favor, save yourself headache and heartache, and see someone else!!

She really cares about YOU and YOUR FUTURE. She will only prescribe what is necessary to help you get to a healthy normal living state. She helps you get back on your feet... and she is patient and shows much empathy with all of her clients as they go through the difficult process of recovery. It is hard to find a Doctor like Dr. Mehta - who is both ethical and empathetic with all her work.
