Wise and Passionate—Far Above Merely Competent
The title above says it. But to explain my adjectives: Dr Lawyer's skill and knowledge have given me two fresh and functional shoulder joints (ha, right and left sides at two different times, I hasten to add). She explained the procedures and what I could expect in the healing and recovery process, and continued communicating optimism both by understandable words and friendly countenance., post-surgery. Both factors are important to me. I was able to go into surgery, on both occasions, completely relaxed and assured of the care I was about to receive.High marks as well, for the office staff at Catalyst Orthopaedics, and even higher marks for consistently positive attention by Shay Dr Lawyer's CMA.

Highly Recommend
We saw Dr. Lawyer for our son's hip, and were impressed with her bedside manners and treatment plan. She took an X-ray right then and there, which was very convenient. She immediately identified the issue, and while a portion of the surgery needed to be referred elsewhere, she ordered an MRI to keep the ball rolling and guided us on the next steps. I would recommend Dr. Lawyer and Catalyst to anyone seeking top notch treatment.

She’s the best.
After listening to horror stories about shoulder surgery, I was dreading the surgery that I know I needed. Dr Lawyer was caring, understanding and exudes confidence in her ability and your recovery. She has outstanding training and credentials. I highly recommend for surgery within her expertise. My physical therapist loves working with her patients.

The Best – Mar 13, 2024

Now disabled after partial knee replacement
Partial knee replacement, no post-op appt, no anti-coagulation therapy afterwards, 6 weeks immobilized post-op - all of which left me with Blood clots, patella Baja, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and extreme knee stiffness. Another surgeon stepped in and did 2 more surgeries but the initial damage had already done by Dr. Lawyer. I am now permanently disabled: cannot navigate stairs w/out pain, I can only walk short distances and have pain doing so. I could go on. I have been stripped of my quality of life.

I saw Dr Lawyer today as a referral from another Ortho doctor for knee surgery. She evaluated my knee and told me I needed a full replacement which she isn't doing. I felt like she took time to explain the MRI and X-ray findings with me and was very pleasant and caring. She is referring me on...but I wish she was going to do the surgery...she instills competence!

She is so nice and professional as well. I felt totally comfortable with her doing my surgery. It was obvious that her assessment skills were outstanding and it was evident that she truly cared about her patients. I would reccomend her to anyone who needs orthopedic surgery.

I am extremely pleased with Dr. Lawyer and how she took care of shoulder. I had heard stories from people over the years about how their rotator cuff surgeries had been difficult at best. Dr. Lawyer answered all my questions prior to my surgery and at each post op appointment. Her skill has impressed my physical therapist with how successful the surgery was. I highly recommend her to anyone and consider the Boise area very fortunate to have her in our community.
