Late Sept. of ’23, I separated my ankle and severely broke my foot. By luck of the draw, Dr. Zamorano was the St. Luke’s surgeon on call. As far as I am concerned, his work was beyond fantastic due to his specialty being trauma surgery. Everyone I have talked with in the medical field from PT to my PC physician had nothing but great things to say about him and I agree. HOWEVER, I can’t say the same for his PA assigned to my post-surgery care. I was restricted to 14 weeks of being non-weight bearing(crutches). At each progress appointment, I expressed a concern about pain in my ankle that didn’t seem to be associated with the surgery on my foot. My concern was disregarded as just a part of the healing process. There was never a time in which the discomfort subsided. After the restriction was lifted in Jan. and I began walking, the pain increased exponentially with use. At my request, I had a follow up appointment. When I told the PA about the pain, he said an MRI must be done and then go to a foot and ankle specialist. The MRI revealed a “nearly completely torn muscle with few intact fibers remaining.” When questioned why this MRI couldn’t have been done last fall, the PA was unable or unwilling to provide an answer. I do not know how much Dr. Zamorano was in the loop throughout the post-surgery process or if he has ever reviewed this MRI result. Because this torn muscle was not diagnosed at the time of the original injury and not addressed in a timely manner, I am now faced with an untimely surgery and additional recovery time. This review would be 5 stars had I been listened to early on.

Excellent Hip Revision
I busted my hip quite badly out of the country and when I got back to the US the surgery failed. I went to Dr. Zamorano and he wound up doing two revisions (I busted the first revision using it a bit too much early on) but the second one held and the bone healed nicely. This was even after I had a fall on the second revision which broke some screws but not the bone. He was also able to make the leg the right angle and length which the surgeon outside the US didn't do. While I likely will always have some ongoing pain, the repairs have been great and I would say the strength is about 80-90% of what it was.

Great treatment
I needed traumatic pelvic surgery and Dr. Zamorano did a fantastic job repairing my sacrum. He was very personable and discussed options with me before the surgery. He wasn't pushy at all. The repair was very tricky, but one year later, I have not had a single problem.
