Worst ever
She was incredibly rude and interrupted me as I was describing why I was there. Didn't believe me about side effects caused by medication. Said women who gain weight are usually sexually abused as children. Was a very bizarre visit to a 'doctor', felt uncomfortable the entire time. Does not have the personality to deal with the public at all. Last 5 minutes of the appointment was used for the actual reason I was there, the rest was her being critical and rude.

This practitioner speaks to patients as if they are beneath her. If they have questions or do not comply immediately she threatens and yells. Yelling at an elderly person with dementia that is only trying to recall information while being intimidated isn’t my idea of good care.

Worst, rudest, doctor ever. Has no bedside manner and is vulgar and crude. She also doesn't know what she's talking about generally

First meet and greet visit was horrible and insulting. I left crying. She even questioned a medication my eye doctor has me on! Also suggested I need to attend over eater’s anonymous and asked, “I assume you had a bad childhood?” Actually I didn’t. But that visit was bad. So...I gathered my belongings and left. I will be calling my insurance provider and filing a complaint and then letting anyone I know NOT to go to this person. No bedside etiquette and adult bullying is not ethical.

Dr. Near was calm and pleasant, and took her time explaining test results. She educated me without sounding condescending. I did not feel rushed. I did not feel patronized. I appreciated how she, and the front desk person, Gina, organized the future tests I needed, and the patient instructions, in an clear and easy to follow format.

Great Primary Care physician. – Apr 29, 2021

Dr. Near really "knows what's going on". She has a conservative approach to medicine; is not one who simply prescribes medications or surgical procedures on a whim (like some others I have met). She reviewed my records carefully and thoroughly. Her assessments were spot-on. I felt comfortable with her recommendations. In my world, Dr. Near is THE BEST EVER!!!

I have never had such a negative interaction with any doctor, EVER. It was my first and only interaction with Dr Near, after my Grandmother was diagnosed with a stroke, and she asked me to "stop talking" as I was trying to explain what had transpired over the last two months. Being that other doctors requested a review of info, I tried to be prepared for her. However, not only did she not want to hear it, she had the nerve to tell me I was hostile, when I told her she would not talk to me like that. I know Dr Near is no longer at Lovelace, so wherever she ends up I caution anyone thinking of going to her! My Grandmother told me she was rude, would interrupt her and even called her a liar once. Given my interaction with her, I do not doubt anything my Grandmother claims.

For years Dr. Near was great. In the last couple of years became very disinterested and difficult. Hope she will finally get to volunteer taking care of baby elephants somewhere as she doesn't seem to like being a doc any more.

I took my father to see Dr. Near because his doctor at the VA Medical Center suggested he have a PCP outside of the VA. She treated him as if he were unworthy of her attention, offended him by treating him like a drug addict and dismissed all his concerns. It wasn't a total waste of time. Now we know where NOT to go.

Agreeing with the other reviews, she's mean and rude. "Dr" Near should seek a new career. In customer service perhaps.

Dr Near is rude, refuses to listen to her patient, treats everyone with condescension and is impossible to talk to. She refused to refer my 95 yr old mother to a pain management doctor (her's had retired) because my mom had never discussed pain with Dr Near...Dr Near prescribes narcotic pain pills to mom but she 'has never discussed pain' with her. Dr Near wanted mom to come back again for a separate visit just to discuss pain, instead of just letting mom tell her why she wanted a referral.

Awful! I knew she would be based on past visits w her. I had cancelled my originally scheduled appt because I just didn't want to see her and be subject to her disgruntled personality. I kept my re-scheduled appt but said a prayer for endurance! I have high blood pressure check-ups, then she gives me high blood pressure!! I have seen her regularly for 2 yrs., her personality can cut like a knife. I've finally decided 'enough', I will find a new dr. who is not a grouch. So happy, now!!!

In all of my years, I have never been seen by a doctor who is more uncaring and made me feel so bad about myself., Not only is her bedside manner sorely lacking, I also question her competency. There are plenty of good doctors in the Albuquerque area - please save yourself some misery and choose one of them instead of this doctor. Future patients beware. It's no wonder she is taking new patients!
