Excellent pulmonologist
Dr. Smith was thoughtful and so kind. A pulmonary function test was performed at first visit and a new inhaler was prescribed for my asthma. A lung ct was also ordered to keep watch on a nodule discovered with a previous primary care doctor. Dr. Smith is thorough and perceptive and I’d highly recommend him to anyone needing an excellent pulmonologist.

Caring Doctor
Dr. Smith was very thorough and took time to listen. He also carefully explained his findings and didn’t seem rushed like so many doctors do. I would recommend him to someone needing a pulmonologist.

I know everyone's experiences differ, but I had a great visit with Dr Smith and his staff. A spot was identified on my lung several months ago and this follow-up appointment, CT Scan, and respiratory therapist testing was very professional and they took great care of me. Highly recommend Dr Smith and his staff.

In all fairness, doctors in hospitals, especially the ICU, are rushed and pressed for time from all sides. So although I felt Dr Smith was very competent and was providing good care overall, I had a hard time feeling like he cared much for me as a patient and felt that he rushed in and out so fast that I didn't really have time to process and think of the questions to ask. Following up with his office a couple weeks later was not fun as I waited to be seen for 45 minutes after my appointment time. hopefully they were just having a bad day and were running behind, but the couple times I have called the office for medication refills and such they really have not been very helpful. I have been rather unimpressed.

Dr. Smith and team are just doing a job and are lacking in compassion. Don’t return calls and clearly just don't care. Will not be returning with my 91 yr old father. transitioning his care to Vanderbilt and difference is remarkable. I truly feel sorry elderly patients witnout an advocate.

Dr Smith is a kind and compassionate physician, which I really needed when I was really sick in the hospital. I had to have surgery for a lung infection and he took the time to explain what was going on before and afterwards.

Took the time to look beyond my lab work and talk to me about other symptoms I might have that could be connected. While he is a pulmonologist he treats the whole patient.
