Right THR went great, left hip THR scheduled soon!
At age 80 I had a total hip replacement on of my right hip. It all went well and I was hiking in Nicaragua eight weeks later. I am 100% improved with this strong new hip and happy in every way with the experience and the outcome. Her staff member Karen was very thorough and patient in pre-op with me. I am a neighbor island patient, so I don't feel I get quite as much time with the doctor as I would like, but it was enough. Dr. Salassa is highly technically skilled and also a has an impressive team. I am scheduled with her now to replace my left hip in a few months and am looking forward to that.

THR done and back at work in 6 weeks!
I was sooooo blessed to have found this article which made me decide to go with Dr Salassa! Due to severe osteoarthritis in my right hip at the age of only 57 (33+ years of hard rock/ heavy metal drumming took its toll on me) I was so scared to even think about a THR and I put up with the constant pain for a year after being diagnosed. But Dr Salassa and her team made me feel comfortable about it so i placed my faith in them and it paid off! My surgery occurred on Jan 19th and I did ALL excersizes as required by the PT staff! As of March 6th - 6 weeks later, I am back at work with full walking abilities and best of all - NO MORE PAIN! She is an incredible surgeon and I am so lucky to have gone to her! Don’t wait as long as I did - see her asap! Mahalo Dr Salassa and staff! You ROCK!!!

Dr. Salassa performed a right-hip replacement for me at Kaiser Permanente in Honolulu. She and the entire staff get 5 out of 5. The months-long-preoperative treatment is critical to your success and lack of complications. Various sources told me that Kaiser is the best at this, because your own surgeon manages the pre-op and post-op such as Physical Therapy. Other hospitals, the surgeon walks in on the day of the operation mostly. Since the surgeon performs such a personal and invasive procedure, I feel like you would like to know them better but she does a few hips and more knees every week. So she has lots of patients. I hope they are as satisfied as I am. 10 months later, and the hip is just like a teenager. No sensations of limit or pain. If you want a doctor who is experienced, serious, and all-business, Dr. Salassa is the greatest. I love my new hip.

Dr Salassa is a very talented orthopedic surgeon. She is able to give quick appointments. She listens well and I am very happy with the 3 visits that I made to her office. She solved my very painful knee problem in a matter of a couple of hours.

Very friendly, courteous, answered any question I had, not rushed (nor a 5 minute doctor) went over my newest xrays and scheduled surgery.......morning of surgery introduced me to staff assisting in OR and I remember we even laughed.....no anxiety on my part ever! Following surgery, updated husband who was waiting and then I saw her the next morning........I would definitely recommend her!

I was sitting in the exam room for a while and was getting frustrated by the wait. However, when Dr. Salassa came into the room I discovered she had spent the time reading all the notes from a prior surgery I had on my shoulder over ten years ago, in that same clinic, but before Dr. Salassa joined the practice. Dr. Salassa not only did a thorough examination of my shoulder, but patiently answered all the questions I had in a way that I could understand. Highly satisfied with the visit.

Dr. Salassa really listened to me and made me comfortable talking to her. She took her time to examine my knee, gently pressing all around it to find the painful areas before giving me my shot. The first time she gave it to me the pain disappeared and was gone for 3 months! This last time, it has lasted over 5 months. I am blessed to have found her!

Dr. Salassa is an incredible physician and surgeon. When another doctor told me that there wasn't anything he could do about my shoulder pain I saw her for a second opinion. We talked about the different options that we could try and the benefits and problems with each. I felt like she really listened to me. She fixed my torn rotator cuff and now my shoulder is like new again. I was very pleased with my experience over all at her office. Dr. Salassa is a gem!!

Great doctor! She was very throughout and noticed a broken bone on my X-rays that was missed when I visited the ER. Her clinic was very easy to get to and the staff was so nice.

She did very little to try to identify where my pain was, the extent of the pain, nor what type of actions induced the pain. Then she did not tell me what to do to remedy or eliminate the pain. Just said to return if still hurts in 6 or 8 weeks. She seemed disinterested.
