Great physician!
Was visiting my daughter, fell and fractured my Femur and hip, not knowing anyone, I was very lucky that Dr Axelrad was the physician that took care of me. Very professional and when I needed something he did returned my calls right away.highly recommended.

Top notch care
From the first exam, through surgery, to the exit exam I was treated with kindness, understanding and courtesy. Everything was explained to my satisfaction. My treatment was adjusted to my needs, not locked in rigid protocol. The best part? He quickly answered a simple question by email rather than relegating me to a cumbersome telephone system and numerous assistants and receptionists. A ten-star doctor in a five-star system.

Incredibly busy physician- if you want someone who is going to do the right thing but not do a ton of hand holding, he's excellent. However, my visit schedule was altered a few times, an appointment was cancelled, and he has a very busy staff who have trouble with timely paperwork, appointment scheduling, and returning phone calls. Very nice people, but certainly overworked. Dr has excellent fracture care and surgical skills, but rarely follows up after procedures to check in and explain what happened. One nurse told my family "He's an excellent doctor, but a terrible communicator." This summed up the bulk of my feelings also, and it felt like I had to fight for all of the care I received.

I fell and fractured my wrist in multiple places. I was referred to Dr. Axelrad for treatment over a 4 month period. While being an incredibly busy specialist with a stressful schedule, he took the time to talk, listen and answer questions. I found him to be knowledgeable, thorough and caring. Dr. Axelrad sent me to 6 weeks of occupational therapy in their Mark West Springs location. I can’t say enough good things about the office staff and the therapists at Santa Rosa Orthopaedics. I found my recovery to be surprisingly quick and successful. I would like to mention something that makes Dr. Axelrad exceptional in my opinion. At the final follow up visit for my wrist, I was experiencing severe pain in my back, pelvis and leg. Though I was there for an exam of my wrist, he was concerned about the other acute pain. He gave me an injection in my SI joint to relieve the pain and also took the time to discuss treatment options with me. Now I’m definitely a fan of Dr. Axelrad’s.

Fought with a ceramic tile floor, breaking my hip and completely shattering my left shoulder and arm. Dr. Axelrad was the trauma surgeon on call. I consider him to be a people angel. After a five and a half hour surgery, I was on the mend. I am walking and using my arm better than before with the new parts he placed in them. Dr. Axelrad put Humpty Dumpty together again! To top it off, he has kept my Osteoporisis in check. His compassion and kindness are only surpassed by his professionalism! I will be forever grateful to him.

Too busy to see patients. Almost his exact words. He has PA's or NP's that actually see the patients then if there are issues, ge stops in for a minute to try to clarify. Surgery sutures were every bit as good as a coroner's mattress stictch. Held together, but left a scar that reminds me of Frankenstein.

I was in an accident with a logging truck and ended up with a shattered heel bone, broken into at least 10 pieces. I can’t thank Dr. Axelrad enough, less than 10 week later, my heel, ankle and joint are working almost perfectly. I expect to be back on my feet in a few weeks, and my scar (which is almost 6 inches long) has healed up beautifully! His team of nurses are also very nice and extremely helpful! I am very grateful for Dr. Axelrad and his team!

The best doctor ever! My two hip replacement surgeries went very smoothly. I was able to get them done in a timely manner after my initial visit with Dr. Axelrad. I would highly recommend him to anyone. I trusted him and he didn't disappoint! He listened to my questions and fears before surgery and answered the questions which put my fears to rest. He never seemed in a hurry and now following my surgeries, I can't really tell I had the surgeries because my hips feel and function normally!
