Dr. Susan Ashton-Lazaroae, MD

Belittled us for taking our child to the ER for a high fever, and low O2 . Told us our daughter was fine and sent her home, 2 hours later we took our daughter to children’s for a second opinion, she had pneumonia and spent 3 days in the hospital getting life saving care. She is unkind and I question if she knows what she is doing.

It was our first time seeing Dr. Ashton-Lazaroae and she was excellent. She was very friendly and professional. She also took her time answering all of our questions. Our daughter was very happy with her new doctor.

I took my son in for a well child visit. We were new to the practice, and my other two children had seen other wonderful doctors in the practice previously. Dr. Ashton was condescending throughout the entire appointment. I homeschool my children, and she spent more time questioning me, and my son, about that than she did on the medical part of the visit. Not friendly questions, but more like interrogating. At one point she told me she didn't homeschool because SHE had to work. It was just a very strange, rude, unnecessary, interaction.

I brought in my daughter, who has serious special needs that aren’t readily apparent, for her annual physical. I had to broach a sensitive topic in front of her, and Dr. Ashton was quickly “on it,” discussing it a way that wasn’t embarrassing for my daughter. She then followed up with us via patient portal and phone on medication issues. I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Ashton-Lazaroae was shockingly unprofessional during a well-check appointment with my toddler. I had to intercede multiple times to protect my child from the aggressive, impatient behavior of this doctor. Further, she provided advice that I know was completely baseless, so I question her aptitude as a medical provider.

Dr. Ashton has a great rapport with my children and takes the time to ask good questions that span a variety of topics. I never feel rushed. We have just started going to her specifically and I hope to continue this going forward!

Dr. Ashton is the best! We are so lucky to have found her! We live in MD and go all the way to Lorton just to see her.

Dr. Ashton-Lazaroae is wonderful! She genuinely cares about her patients and their entire family.

Along with being personable, she was kind to our son, listened to all our concerns, and was knowledgeable with her answers.

Ms. Lazaroae is a very nice lady, she was a great listener. Thoroughly asked about both physical and mental health and if there were any extra problems.

She spent extra time with my daughter and I.

Dr. Ashton doesn't always tell you what you want to hear but she tells you what you need to hear. She's been caring for our family for over 5 years and we really trust her judgment.

She is a bit of an alarmist and is lacking in bed side manner. At one point, I put her in my 'any doctor but this one pile' and never looked back.

I have been to the practice many times and met many of the doctors, they are all good! Except this one ! I felt like I committed a crime for taking in my sick child to be checked and the doctor was pissed at my toddler for refusing to open the mouth, and tried to physically force open the toddlers mouth until I stopped her! Seemed like she roll her eyes when I was addressing my concern.
