I went for a colonoscopy procedure with a Gastroenterologist that's in my insurance network at the hospital that's in the network. During the procedure it seems like Dr. Suresh provided service as anesthesiologist and insurance carrier just advised me that the bill of Dr. Suresh is $3220 for the service while the carrier say reasonable payment for the service is $289.26 I really wonder how one can check whether the doc performing services when you are on a stretcher is really in network!

Dr. Valloppillil submitted a claim to my insurance for the services provided during orthopedic ankle surgery that was more than twice the bill from the surgeon who performed the surgery. He spent 10 minutes with me before the surgery and I was assured by my surgeon's office that all operating personnel would be in network. As it turns out Dr. Valloppillil was not in network. If I had known prior to the surgery that this was not the case I would have used another doctor.
